Company Background
Acron was founded in Glasgow in 2011 by Stuart McDonald. Stuart had been working within the asbestos industry for several years but noticed an opportunity in the market to set up on his own. Initially working as a freelance consultant, he quickly generated a significant initial success managing large-scale asbestos related projects for the core client base.
In the years following, with a team of valued and highly skilled employees, Acron continued to grow in size and stature, taking on larger scale projects across the world, including as far as Thailand and Singapore. Acron has become a well-established and trusted partner for all asbestos related projects. From local domestic issues to multi-million-pound private international development projects. Our team has a broad depth of qualifications and experience allowing us to work across several industries. Simply, if you need advice on anything relating to asbestos, we can help.
Our Commitment to Quality
A strong commitment to quality is embedded in our culture and values. Our independently assessed accreditations demonstrate our technical competence and impartiality.
United Kingdom Accreditation Scheme (UKAS) ISO17020 - is an internationally recognised standard for the competence of inspection bodies. The HSE strongly recommends the use of ISO17020 accredited surveyors when carrying out an asbestos survey.
United Kingdom Accreditation Scheme (UKAS) ISO17025 - is an internationally recognised standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Only UKAS accredited companies can provide the asbestos related testing.
United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) – The UK’s leading trade association provides the benchmark of standards that asbestos training providers have to achieve and maintain.
Safety Schemes in Procurement SSIP accreditation removes the need for contractors to complete pre-qualification assessments saving our clients time and money. The core of the SSIP scheme is to provide clients with confidence in the contractor’s adherence to CDM regulation and H&S.
Constructionline Gold – Gold standard approval ensures we are not only compliant with PAS91, we are also audited on our credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence and anti-bribery and corruption policies.
Builder’s Profile is the open-access Common Database service providing compliance and PQQ information to the construction industry and is a user-friendly ‘complete once, share to many’ service that makes PQQ & Assessment submission simple, keeping information up-to-date easy.
Operated by the HSE Testing and Monitoring, Acron participates in the Regular Interlaboratory Counting Exchanges (RICE) as part of the UKAS quality requirements. As a laboratory, this ensures the proficiency of our consultants when counting asbestos fibers in the air.
